MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY.

My personal teaching philosophy.
My name is Mnguni Anton Thulani I am currently enrolled for a B Ed in foundation phase at the University of Mpumalanga teacher education campus at Siyabuswa.

A teaching philosophy is a statement that you construct or write to guide you as a teacher. This philosophy does not always stay the same it changes with time. It will evolve as you change or gain more knowledge into the teaching profession and how you fulfill your role in it. It will also enable you to refer and be able to comment and judge yourself in terms of whether or not are you fulfilling your goals.

My goals and purposes as a teacher
My goals and purposes as a teacher which are the things that I want to achieve are so many. The first thing that I want to achieve as a teacher is to get to a point where I will actually be able to make each and every learner as different as he/she might be from the others intellectually to understand the content or what I will be teaching him/her, this will obviously be possible if I have invented good methods of teaching which also falls under the things which I want to achieve. The second thing that I want to achieve is to be a life-long learner myself such that I will be able to assist each and every one be it my learners in class or in the foundation phase, learners from other phases and people around me and my colleagues. The other thing that I want to achieve is to be a source of information in the society when it comes to education related stuff. I want to make sure that I take each and every learner in my class serious and I will try to attend to all of their problems somehow.

The way I see processes of ‘learning and teaching’
The way I see teaching as a process is strongly motivated by the pedagogical content knowledge. Pedagogy is the method used to deliver content therefore as a teacher it is my obligation to have a deep insight on the content knowledge to start with. As a teacher to be I believe that it is important that you know your subjects inside out. Knowing your subjects will make it easier to teach the learners. The learning process requires the learners to be more attentive which means active learning. Learning differs from child to child as others might be passive because of their multiple intelligence's such as being playful even to lessons which require listening and observing. To conclude learning and teaching work hand in glove since there cannot be teaching without learning and vice verse.

ROLES I WILL BE PLAYING AS A TEACHER
I will be a parent to my learners and make sure that I create sort of a home away from home environment such that they are taken care of the same way as they are being looked after at home. Try by all means to be open to them which will enable them to talk to me should there be anything bothering them. I will be a moral teacher who is going to teach them to greet people all the time and develop more socially. I will be an expert in my field which means I will be fully equipped with all the information I need to get going. I will lead them through my ways of doing things such as dressing in a presentable way such that they will also aspire to become like me. I will be a life-long learner so that I keep up with new advancements be it in technology or curriculum statements. I will be a learning mediator such that I accommodate each and every learner irrespective of their backgrounds and weaknesses. I will be an interpreter a person who will try by all means to simplify complexities that we might come across when going through content.

ROLES OF A LEARNER IN LEARNING AND TEACHING SITUATIONS
The roles of a learner are to be a listener to what is being taught by a teacher in class. To allow for continuous assessment where he/she will be tested on understanding such that evaluations can be made if a learner is lacking. A learner must have respect for his/her peers and for the teacher as such. A learner has a responsibility not to tease his/her peers and or make them feel.
